Some new stuff for Mantic games

As of Xmas, I now have a resin 3D printer and I've been busy printing stuff. I started with 6mm WWI, more on that as I get it painted, but since then I've been doing some for Kings of War and Deadzone.

First off some Nameless for Deadzone, from the Mantic Vault.

Next up is a Greater Fire Elemental for Kings of War. This is transparent with flickering LEDs. Again from the Mantic Vault.

Also for Kings of War, again printed in transparent resin, some water elementals...

And last, but certainly not least... Scorchwings for Kings of War. (not 3d printed!)

Plague Ready for Warpath:Firefight

One of the great things about Deadzone, as well as it being a great game in itself, is that Mantic have made their new system, Warpath (and Firefight it's skirmish ruleset) completely compatible with the same models.

This has meant that it's been a doddle to extend my existing Deadzone Plague collection to make a usable force for Firefight.

I've just completed the few models I needed to make myself a 1000pt (actually 999) force ready for a my first game next Monday. The force might be completely rubbish. I have no idea. It's just what I managed to make up using as many of the painted models I already had.

The force consists of:
  • 3rd Gens
    • 3x 3rd Gen
    • 2x Dog/Swarm
    • 2x 3rd Gen Flamethrower
  • 3rd Gens
    • 3x 3rd Gen
    • 2x Dog/Swarm
    • 1x 3rd Gen Grenade Launcher
    • 1x 3rd Gen HMG
  • 3rd Gens Mortar Battery
    • 4x 3rd Gen
    • 1x 3rd Gen Mortar Team
  • 3x 2nd Gen "Leapers"
  • 20x Plague Zombies
  • 1x Aberration
  • 1x Strider
  • 1x Teraton
  • 1x 1st Gen Mutant

Deadzone/Warpath Plague Update

... two months passes... no posts...

Oops!!

Sorry!!

I have been doing things, just not as much as I was. You see I have another hobby, re-enacting and that has been taking my time up. Mostly in this case working on vintage bicycles... But that's not what this blog is about and so I'll not say more.

Anyway, I have not completely rested on my laurels. I have done some painting and gaming as always... I just haven't been posting about it. So now it's time to catch up.

First up is my Plague... nope... I'm not ill! My Plague army for Deadzone has been growing into what I hope will be a usable force for Warpath & Firefight. I've still got loads to do, but the photos below show a few of the new models. New 3rd gen troopers, zombies, aberration and a strider have been added...

The Plague infection spreads...

I've been playing a few games of Deadzone recently at the club against Andy. And I decided it was time to finally get some of the Plague models I've not touched since the first Kickstarter painted.

I also recently received the Warpath and Firefight rules from the Kick starter for that. I didn't get any of the models just the rules. Now I have them I have plans to make a Plague army for the Firefight. These are very similar to the Warpath rules but don't require as many models. Effectively they are the next step up from Deadzone. As such I don't actually need to get that many more Plague models.

But first I need to get what I've already got painted. In this case, mortar team, grenade launcher, teraton and swarm.

Deadzone Pathfinders

I picked up a sprue of Deadzone Pathfinders at the Mantic Open Day a few weeks ago. The D.O.G. was painted a few weeks ago and has already been used. I got the Pathfinders themselves finished last night.

It was odd going back to painting a few miniatures after working on all those Hirst Arts buildings.

Next up I have to start work on the base boards for the Frostgrave games we'll be running at the Derby World Champs in October.

Necromunda Terrain

This blog is really a shout out to Steve...

"Is this enough terrain for Necromunda?"

I've painted the backs of two of my sea boards for a sci-fi industrial wasteland sort of look and put my Deadzone scenery on it.

If it's not enough then I do have some more stuff to scatter about and I have another 30(ish) sprues coming. :D
